Bathtub Painting
Here's an indoor activity that
is fun, refreshing and educational! While playing in the bath, your child will
learn about the properties of water and express her creativity. She will also
enhance her imagination, increase her self-esteem and learn about measuring,
volume and cause and effect. For safety purposes, supervise all water
activities.
What you'll need:
Bathtub
Paint brushes of various sizes
Water
Child's swimming suit
Bubble bath or bubble solution and wands
Plastic containers for filling and dumping
Plastic animals, people or vehicles
Children's washable paint (optional)
Mild dishwashing liquid (optional)
What to do:
Invite your child to wear her swimming suit in the bathtub.
Add paintbrushes, containers and other water-appropriate props.
Bubbles add another dimension to this experience.
Encourage your child to use water and paint (with a little dishwashing liquid
added) on the sides of the tub, tile and faucet. Clean up is easy! Just rinse
your child and the tub at the same time.
